May 28, 2019 – Tampa, FL.  Rivero, Gordimer & Company (RGCO), CPAs and Advisors, is pleased to announce the expansion of its Valuation and Advisory team. RGCO is one of the largest and most-trusted locally-based Tampa CPA firms.

Valuation & Advisory services are at appropriate times, critical for businesses of all sizes, helping collect and assess data or provide specialized services not found internally. These consulting services cover a variety of areas including business valuations for tax, litigation or strategic planning, merger and acquisition assistance, Quality of Earnings reporting and general due diligence. Valuation & Advisory also plays a key role in business succession planning, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), forensic accounting, litigation support and bankruptcy filings. RGCO greatly expanded these services in 2018 with the addition of C. Brett Cooper and is now expanding again, with the addition of Jonathan Meighan, to meet the growing needs of its clients.

Jonathan Meighan is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA®) and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Florida. He joins RG&CO from a national business brokerage/consulting firm, where he was a Senior Associate – Valuation/M&A. He has experience in valuation engagements for sale purposes, lender/acquisition financing, and general transaction planning for a variety of clients.

Jonathan joins the team of Rene J. Zarate and C. Brett Cooper, Directors-Valuation & Advisory at RGCO.

Rene J. Zarate, CPA/ABV has been with RG&Co since 1999, returning to the firm after a ten-year hiatus to operate and sell a Tampa-based Healthcare company He has practiced public accounting in the Tampa Bay area since 1980. Zarate has been awarded the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation by the AICPA, which recognizes CPAs with extensive professional experience in business valuation. Originally specializing in Audit and Assurance his practice is now exclusive to Private Equity transaction advisory; Strategic Planning and Management advice to entrepreneurs; Bankruptcy and Advisory Services; and International Business Advisory Services.

C.  Brett Cooper, CPA•ABV, ASA•BV/IA, BVAL, Cr. FA joined RGCO last year. Cooper has 35 years of experience in the CPA profession and more than 20 years of experience as a business consultant. He acts as a business appraiser, expert witness, and financial consultant in the areas of Appraisal & Valuation, Litigation Support, Transaction Advisory, Forensic Accounting, and ESOPs. He is one of a select few individuals within the American Society of Appraisers who has earned the specialty credential of ASA in Intangible Asset Valuation.
