Mike Helton is a Shareholder at Rivero, Gordimer & Company, where he has built a nearly three-decade career providing strategic tax planning, estate planning, and business consulting to closely held businesses. Originally from Eastern Kentucky, Mike moved to the Tampa Bay area in the late 1990s in search of new opportunities and quickly found a professional home at RGCO.

Today, Mike is widely regarded for his collaborative style and ability to translate complexity into clarity. He serves clients across a broad range of industries, including professional services, construction, trucking, retail, manufacturing, and hospitality. While his work spans many sectors, Mike is especially known for his long-standing involvement in the rent-to-own (RTO) community. He serves on the board of the Association of Progressive Rental Organizations (APRO) and continues to support RTO businesses as part of his broader advisory practice.

In addition to his professional roles, Mike is involved in the community. He is a member of the Tax Council of Tampa Bay and a past board member of Easter Seals and Tampa Connection. For Mike, the most rewarding part of his work is collaborating with others to make a lasting difference for both his clients and his community.

Mike and his wife, Mary, also a CPA, live on Davis Islands. They are proud parents of four children, some of whom are now grown and pursuing their own paths. A former college basketball player, Mike earned a full athletic scholarship and credits that experience with shaping his work ethic and team-oriented approach. While he may not hit the court as often these days, he still enjoys staying active and brings that same sense of focus and collaboration into his client relationships.
