Since joining Rivero, Gordimer & Company in 2000, Jonathan E. Stein has built a reputation as a practical, solutions-oriented advisor known for helping clients navigate complex business challenges with clarity, common sense, and a focus on real-world solutions. As a Shareholder on the firm’s Assurance Team, Jon works closely with clients in a variety of industries, with particular experience in employee benefit plans, Federal and State Single Audits, and overhead audits performed in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations.

Jon is especially passionate about serving engineering and construction clients because of his deep experience in those industries, allowing him to help businesses operate more effectively, improve profitability, and position themselves for growth. Clients frequently turn to him when timing is critical and the stakes are high — whether they need an overhead audit completed quickly to secure a contract award, financial statements to obtain bonding, or guidance navigating complex industry requirements. He also brings a long-term perspective to his client relationships, helping business owners think beyond the immediate need in front of them and consider issues such as succession planning, exit strategy, and future transition opportunities. He focuses on finding workable, real-world solutions that help businesses move forward, capitalize on opportunities, and achieve their goals.

Beyond his client work, Jon is actively involved in the construction community. He has held several leadership positions with the Tampa Bay chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), including President, Vice President, and now Treasurer. He is also active in the Florida Surety Association (FSA) and is a graduate of Tampa Connection.

Outside the office, Jon is an avid endurance athlete who has completed two full Ironman competitions and numerous half Ironmans, triathlons, and cycling races across the country. He and his wife, whom he met in high school, have two daughters, one in middle school and one in high school. Jon credits his disciplined, steady approach to both his athletic pursuits and his long-term commitment to his clients and colleagues. He believes strongly in listening carefully, following through, understanding what clients are trying to accomplish, and finding ways to make a meaningful difference in their businesses.
