Since it was founded in 1990, the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay has supported the local community through a variety of leadership and philanthropic programs. As of 2017, the Community Foundation has awarded more than $200 million in grants to create positive change in the Tampa Bay area.

Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House is a national not-for-profit that aims to provide support to families whose children are experiencing medical challenges. They have houses where families can stay during extended treatments, in-hospital rooms where families can go to relax and reconnect, and mobile care units for programs like education, immunizations, and diagnostics.

Nonprofit Leadership Center of Tampa Bay

The Nonprofit Leadership Center of Tampa Bay strives to improve the Tampa community by educating and training the leaders of local nonprofits. Through networking, training, coaching, and other available resources, the Nonprofit Leadership Center (NLC) focuses on empowering and cultivating nonprofit leaders.

Metropolitan Ministries

Metropolitan Ministries is a donor and volunteer-based nonprofit created to give hope and help to the homeless. Metropolitan Ministries provides meals, emergency shelters, employment assistance, and self-sufficiency programs to the homeless and those at risk of being homeless in Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough, and Polk Counties.

Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI)

MOSI is a not-for-profit science museum that focuses on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education. MOSI strives to educate and excite guests through a variety of innovative science exhibits and projects.

Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay

Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay is a not-for-profit that partners with local educational organizations and business leaders to provide students with financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs. In 2018, more than 3,100 volunteers will teach Junior Achievement programs to students in 12 local counties.

Camelot Community Care

Camelot Community Care is a local nonprofit that provides help to children and families experiencing abuse. Their behavioral and welfare programs are focused on servicing children in their home, school, and the community.

Trinity Cafe

Serving meals with a purpose, Trinity Cafe has been helping feed the hungry and homeless for nearly 20 years. They are dedicated to providing meals to anyone in need. The surrounding community continues to support their nonprofit’s mission, to treat all people with love and respect, starting with food.

Hillsborough Education Foundation

Providing students with the tools and resources needed to succeed after high school is one of the main pillars of the Hillsborough Education Foundation. With help from donors and the surrounding community, Hillsborough Education Foundation provides support to Hillsborough County Public Schools through school supplies, scholarships, mentorships, teaching grants, and other educational programs.

Directions for Living 

Directions for Living is a nonprofit that provides health care services, social support, and safety programs to children and families in need. From foster care to trauma therapy, Directions for Living offers the Tampa community with a variety of mental and physical support.

Children’s Cancer Center

Started in 1974 by two parents who lost their child to leukemia, Children’s Cancer Center provides support for children and their families who are battling cancer or blood disorders. They offer emotional, financial, and educational support through their packed calendar of events and programs, helping thousands each year.

Meals on Wheels of Tampa

Meals on Wheels provides food-related services for the Tampa community’s seniors and homebound citizens. Many people are not able to prepare food, either due to age, disability, or illness, and this Tampa nonprofit delivers nourishing meals to those individuals. In operation since 1975, this charity also has programs for post-hurricane relief, water delivery, and pet food delivery.
