The Women to Watch Awards recognize outstanding women in the accounting field who not only shape the FICPA, but also the profession. McSpadden says, “I’m honored to be recognized as a nominee for this award. The FICPA has given me many opportunities to grow professionally and give back to the accounting field. I’m grateful to all of my friends and colleagues for their support.”

McSpadden earned her CPA designation in 2014 and has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accounting from the University of Florida. She has practiced public accounting in the Tampa Bay area since 2013 and was promoted to Tax Supervisor at RGCO in 2019. Her leadership, professional, and community involvement activities include significant volunteer work with the West Coast Chapter of the FICPA, Emerging Leaders of Tampa Bay, the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, and the Women in Action Philanthropic Group with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. She has written industry-specific articles on various topics, has presented as a panelist, regularly gives her time to community events including the CPA Day of Service, and represents RGCO at career fairs and socials. McSpadden is also a member of a US Masters Swim Team and is a lifetime member of the University of Florida Alumni Association.

Michael E. Helton, CPA and Shareholder of Rivero, Gordimer & Company, says, “Jill is clearly one of our firm’s rising stars. She is leading not only in our client service and staff training areas, but we have transitioned our monthly business development committee meeting to be led by her and she is doing a great job. Jill’s acceptance of new challenges followed by her success will forge the path for others to follow, which will only make our firm stronger.”

The winner of the award will be announced at the FICPA Women’s Leadership Summit in June.
