The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) spearheads a statewide initiative every year for CPAs across Florida to give back to their local community. CPA Day of Service, as it’s known, was recognized on May 19, 2018.
Rivero, Gordimer & Company was proud to take part in this year’s CPA Day of Service by volunteering at Metropolitan Ministries.
Who is the FICPA?
The FICPA is a professional membership organization for CPAs throughout the state of Florida. Established in 1905, the FICPA now has more than 19,500 members and works to improve the accounting profession through a variety of activities such as networking, knowledge-sharing, and community activism.
The CPA Day of Service is one of the many events put on by the FICPA.
Who is Metropolitan Ministries?
Metropolitan Ministries is a nonprofit organization in Tampa that aims to fight poverty and homelessness in surrounding communities. It currently supports Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Polk County, and Pasco County through a variety of programs focused on providing meals, shelter, and employment opportunities to individuals in need.
