On November 14, 2019, more than 100 local nonprofit executives and board members attended Rivero, Gordimer & Company’s (RGCO) 3rd annual Nonprofit Appreciation Day. The event provided educational training to attendees, networking opportunities with peers, and lunch catered by Metropolitan Ministries’ Inside the Box, all free of charge. Mayor Jane Castor gave the opening remarks, followed by a presentation on the benefits of diversified funding models from Amy Kern, CFO of Metropolitan Ministries; Elizabeth Hennig, Principal Strategist of Uptrend Custom Solutions; and Maria Porto-Duarte, CFO of AMI Kids Inc.

In addition, nationally acclaimed speaker Ian Adair, Executive Director of Gracepoint Foundation, gave two inspiring presentations about leadership storytelling and how to win donor attention.

“Our firm strives to give back to the community as part of our core values, and we are pleased to continue to offer this event each year,” said Sam Lazzara, Shareholder of RGCO. “We received lots of positive feedback, and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.”
